This is our final week and we are finishing off play scripts.

1) To punctuate a play script.

This is your chance to be a teacher by editing and improving a play script. Scene-2-Unrest.pdf  Please check there are…

  • Commas used in a character list.
  • Colons : are used to show when characters are speaking.
  • (Brackets) to show stage directions.

2) Think of interesting stage directions.

Look back at Scene 2 from yesterday, improve the scene by writing in more stage directions explaining what you would like the actors to do. Boudicca-nouns-verbs-and-adverbs.pdf

  • Think of interesting verbs.
  • Use adverbs to describe how stage directions are done.

3) Plan Scene 3 - The Rebellion.

Think about the plot you have read so far. What will happen next?

4) Write your own a scene.

  • Write a setting description using interesting adjectives
  • Write a list of characters with commas
  • Use capital letters for characters names and colons: to show when they are speaking
  • Give stage directions using brackets ( )

5) Practice and perform your play script.

- Re-read, edit and improve your scene. Act it out using a loud, clear speaking voice. You could record your performance and send to a friend or family member.
